Historical

The Valley of the Mills, is called so because until the outbreak of the war it was equipped with eight factories that worked to grind wheat, barley and to make the pesto of peels. The tannin extract was then sold to tanning the skins.

It was also an important communication route to bring downstream the spruce timber, which arrived at the Brenta canal to Venice.

Naturalistic

The territory of Gallio, unlike other areas of the Plateau, is rich in perennial water sources. Animals assiduously fret about this place to drink. Of particular importance is the presence of the blackbird that nests in these places.
